In every region of Japan, there will be Tanabata festivals held a day before July 7th, and a day afterward.On the night of 7th July of every year, people write their wishes on colorful paper strips and hang them on bamboo leaves.
In Takayama, they celebrate Tanabata by the lunar calendar.
This festival is held from August 5 to August 7 at the old town in Takayama.

七夕祭りと言えば7月7日ですが、高山では行事を旧暦で祝うので七夕祭りも8月に行います。毎年8月の頭には高山市内が七夕飾りで彩られ、地元の人や観光客を楽しませてくれます。8月5日から8月7日までの3日間は「古い町並み」でも七夕祭りが行われ特に盛り上がります。
